Enhancements Delivered
West Coast Reduction operates a large transportation network serving multiple business lines and product types. Their legacy driver mobile app was built on discontinued Oracle technology, creating an escalating security and maintenance risk. Beyond replacing unsupported technology, the company needed a future-ready mobile platform that could preserve existing JD Edwards-centered business processes, support low-connectivity and offline scenarios, enable push notifications, and unify multiple line-of-business workflows into one seamless interface for drivers.
After evaluating multiple vendors, West Coast Reduction selected Magic Software for the combined strength of Magic SmartUX and Magic xpi. SmartUX provided a low-code mobile development studio to rapidly deliver a modern, unified driver experience, while Magic xpi enabled straightforward integration back to JD Edwards as the system of record. The resulting NLBOne app embedded critical capabilities including cattle ear tag scanning, route and task execution, on-site photo and video capture, signature workflows, notes, and in-app updates. By consolidating previously separate apps into one guided interface, the team improved usability while avoiding data silos and maintaining existing business logic.
